Trick or Treat is a self-guided walk with your friends and family to participating houses to show off your costumes and collect a lolly (candy) from the householder. Look for the orange balloons/ribbons or Halloween decorations for participating trick or treat houses, and check our facebook page a little closer to the time.
Neighbours in the area surrounding Hayward St graciously take part in providing treats for children who knock at Halloween. Participating houses will display decorations or orange balloon/ribbon near their letterbox. Remember to bring your trick-or-treat bag!
Each year we drop a letter into our neighbours to ask for their participation. We strive to provide a safe environment where children are welcome to take part in this fun tradition.
Costumes are encouraged if you’re trick or treating, and they don’t need to be scary – you can wear whatever you like.
The streets that are invited to participate are:
Hayward St – both sides from Bowler Street to Lower Cairns Terrace.
Including both sides of Charlotte St, Plunkett St, Charteris St and Lower Cairns Terrace between Great George St and Cochrane St.
For the safety of the children, we have not usually included houses facing the busier roads – so no houses facing great George St. If you are super keen to have trick or treaters come to your house and you’re just outside of the area, please let me know so I can make sure parents are aware of your place and I can put you on our map.
